End users opt in to Tavern Community text messages on our membership application at https://taverncommunity.com/apply. The application's phone step presents an optional phone number field with an unchecked consent checkbox. The application can be submitted without providing a phone number or checking the box, and we only send text messages to applicants who actively checked it. Consent handling

The checkbox is never pre-selected. The consent value is stored with the application record, and our messaging system only sends texts where consent was actively given. Phone numbers are collected first-party only and are never sold, rented, or shared with third parties. Every message we send ends with "Reply STOP to end." STOP and HELP keywords are honored automatically.
